Acupressure


Acupressure is a form of massage therapy. It originated in China 3000 years ago and is also used in Japan where it is called shiatsu. Acupressure is based on the Chinese belief that all living things contain a vital energy, which is known as chi. Within the body are invisible paths called meridians that connect all the parts of our body. The chi flows along these paths.

Acupressure therapy is used to relieve pain and discomfort related to or caused by sports and athletics. According to recent studies, acupressure therapy has shown remarkable results in treating neurological disorders such as paralysis of the face, migraine headaches, partial paralysis, peripheral neurological disorders, epilepsy, vertigo, multiple sclerosis, muscular and diseases of the nervous system etc. in addition to the numerous benefits it offers to neuromuscular disorders, acupressure massage therapy is also highly beneficial in easing stressed and stiff limbs especially among people were partially disabled. One of the best features of acupressure massage therapy is that it is not restricted to any particular gender or group and can be used to treat people with a wide range of disorders and conditions primarily due to the gentle manner and style of the therapy used in stimulating the healing recess in the body.
