Dr. Rose Boyd DC. — Chiropractor
Rose graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic with a passion to
help others realize their wellness potential and how amazing their
body's healing capacity really is. After obtaining her Bachelor's of
Science Degree at Iowa State University, she completed her doctorate at
Palmer College, totaling more than eight years of study in human
anatomy and the healing art of chiropractic.
Chiropractic philosophy is guided by the knowledge that the body is
self healing and healing is controlled by the brain and the nervous
system. When stress, toxins, and injuries prevent the body from
communicating properly, pain and disease may result. Rose was trained
specifically in how to remove stress from the nervous system so that
the body may heal in the most natural way possible.
Rose is proficient in a variety of chiropractic techniques and is
dedicated to finding the technique that works best for each individual,
since everyone is unique. She has worked with a variety of patients
from infants to elderly to athletes. She has helped patients looking
for relief from acute injuries to patients suffering from chronic
illnesses. Through biomechanical adjustments, specific muscle testing
techniques, trigger point work and nutritional therapies, she loves
helping others on their path to healing and wholeness.
Kim Kies- MA, MPH, CPT, CWC, CSE Clinical Somatic Educator
Kim
Kies, A clinical Somatic Educator works with rehabilitation as well as
shifting patterns of chronic tension and inefficient use of the body.
Kim has her Masters in Public Health and Anthropology and is completing
her Ph. D in Human Science. A native to Wisconsin, she has
recently returned from the East coast from her extensive and
specialized training in Clinical Somatic Education. Somatic Education
is at its essence, retraining how the brain communicates with the
muscle. The process allows the brain to begin to shift patterns of
habitual body use that contribute to chronic pain or misaligned
posture. This modality truly empowers the client to gain the skills
they need to achieve greater balance and better use of themselves
during their everyday activities. Kim both conducts hands-on personal
sessions as well as classes and workshops with gentle, but very
effective exercises that anyone can do to solicit positive change.
Mary E. K. Denison, C.M.T. Ac Master in Oriental medicine
Mary E.K.
Denison is a licensed acupuncturist in the State of Minnesota. She first attended the Minnesota Institute of
Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MIAHS), graduating with a Master’s level in
Oriental Medicine in June, 1998. To get
into the MIAHS program, students had to hold a two year degree. Mary’s two year degree was an Associate of
Science, which she received in June, 1973.
Prior to graduating from MIAHS, Mary passed her national exams and
received her Diplomat in Acupuncture from the National Certification
Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) board. In order to keep the NCCAOM certification, a
necessary requirement for an acupuncturist to keep their license in the State
of MN, she must satisfy 60 hours of documented continuing education every four
years. MIAHS was sold to the Northwestern Health
Science University a couple of years later and they renamed it the Minnesota
College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MCAOM). They brought the Acupuncture and Oriental
Medicine program to a Master’s degree.
Mary continued her studies for an additional year in order to obtain her
Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine, with another graduation date of April,
2002. In October, 2006, Mary completed
her certification in the Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture program (facial and
abdominal). These protocols were
developed by Dr. Martha Lucas, Ph.D., L.Ac., which strictly follow Traditional
Chinese Medicine theory.
Mary has also been a
Swedish massage therapist and Foot Reflexologist since 1986. She attended Sr. Rosalind Gefre’s Professional
School of Massage for her certification.
She studied several techniques of body work and theories over
the past 23 years. In those studies, she
was introduced to the Chinese 5-Element theory, and fell in love with the
Asian’s ancient view of healing. Mary
holds a high respect for the Western medicine model, and feels that they are
experts in saving lives in emergency and life threatening situations. Where that is not necessary, Mary prefers to
seek first natural ways of healing, as she has accepted that we follow the same
laws of nature, and embraces the Yin/Yang theory. She has faith in God and the Divine, who she
believes has placed in our bodies an innate wisdom towards wholeness. Her treatment goals are focused on the whole
mind, body, and spirit. When her clients remain faithful to that goal and are
committed, they will experience healing that may not have occurred, subtle or
otherwise. It is her desire to bring
awareness and encouragement to her clients as they seek new and healthier
ways. As a Sufi saying states, “This
thing we tell of cannot be found by seeking, yet only Seekers find it”. Mary maintains that to get something you
never had, you have to do something you never did.
